Cross Scan: scan a badge at several events
This feature allows organisers to scan a participant's badge even if they are not registered for the event in question, but for another event with the same audience. This feature is compatible with inwink onsite and inwink leadgen.
Why activate it?
This feature makes it possible to :
-
Scan a participant with a badge from another event without refusing access.
-
Include these scans in overall participation statistics.
To ensure the proper functioning of this feature:
- The scan areas must not contain specific rules limiting access.
- All involved audience events must be correctly configured.
Configuration and activation
The activation of this option is done directly from the back-office:
-
Access the module
- Go to My Event > Configuration > Modules > inwink onsite > Onsite Scan > Scans and Badges.
- Activate the option "Allow external badges?"
-
Add the concerned events
- Select the events for which access to external badges should be allowed.
- If necessary, repeat this configuration for each concerned event.
How does it work?
-
When a participant is scanned at an event with a badge from another event, they will be automatically added in the back-office as registered and present.
Note: They will not be attached to a specific category of participants. -
The existing fields on events with the same technical code will be automatically filled in on the participant's record.
-
Example: If the field "What is the size of your company?" is present on both events, it will be correctly filled in when scanning an external badge.
-
- Their scan will be included in the participation statistics.
Special case: participant registered for multiple events
If a participant is registered for event A and event B and attends event A with their badge from event B, they will be added as a duplicate to event A at the time of the scan. However, if they attend event A with their badge from event A, they will not be registered as a duplicate.
