End of root sites: migration to root communities
Root sites will no longer be available in inwink. They must be replaced by a root community.
Migration steps
- Create the root community
From your back office, create a community that will serve as the root site.
This community will now host your content, events, and home pages. - Duplicate existing content
You can duplicate certain free content blocks from your current root site.
To display your events, you will need to manually add them to the new community. - DNS Migration
In the DNS configuration, redirect your domain to the new root community (published or not).
Access: Audience > DNS - Redirect configuration
The DNS migration process automatically creates redirect entries in the target community.
Access: Website & App > Webmaster > URL rewriting - Publishing the community
Once the community is created and configured, don’t forget to publish it.
Important
URLs will change to reflect the new structure:
Before
Example: https://events.inwink.com/inwink-paris-2025
After
/e/
for an event
Example:https://events.inwink.com/e/event-paris-2025
/c/
for a community
Example:https://events.inwink.com/c/communaute-paris-2025
Good to know
Redirects are created automatically, but you can modify or add them manually if needed.
