Create and configure a volume discount on a pricing

The volume discount feature allows a participant to benefit from an automatic discount once a certain purchase volume is reached. It is recommended to encourage group registrations or the purchase of multiple pricing.

Accessing volume discounts

To configure a volume discount, go to the back office:

Sales > Discounts > Volume discounts

Click "+" to “Add a volume discount” and create a new rule.

Define discount parameters

General information

  • Rule name

  • Description (optional)

  • Status

Application rules

The first step is to define which pricing the discount rule will apply to.

  • All pricing
The rule applies regardless of the pricing added to the cart, as soon as the defined volume is reached.

  • Pricing types
You can restrict the discount to the following pricing types:

    • Named badges

    • Catalog products

    • Packages

  • Specific pricing
Select exactly which pricing are eligible.

You can then define:

  • Discount method: by percentage (%) or fixed amount (€)

  • Discount target:

    • Entire order

    • Only on eligible pricing
The discount applies only to the selected pricing once the threshold is reached.

    • Only on eligible pricing beyond the threshold
The discount only applies from the threshold onward, on the pricing beyond that point.
Example: An organizer offers 50% off starting from the 4th badge purchased.

Threshold configuration

You can define one (mandatory) or multiple discount thresholds. For each threshold, specify:

  • The minimum quantity of pricing required to trigger the discount

  • The discount amount or percentage

Example:

  • From 5 badges: apply €10 off

  • From 10 badges: apply €15 off

Note: It is not possible to combine amount-based and percentage-based thresholds within the same volume discount.

Priority

Each discount rule is assigned a priority. The lower the number, the higher the priority (e.g., 1 = highest priority).

Note: If multiple rules apply to a single order, only the rule with the highest priority (lowest number) will be applied.

Quota

You can define a maximum number of times the discount rule can be applied (e.g., max. 100 uses).

Combining with other discounts

Volume discounts can be combined with a discount code under certain conditions, configured directly within the discount code settings.

There are two key parameters:

  • Combinable: defines whether the volume discount can apply alongside other discounts.

  • Priority: defines which discount is applied first when stacking is allowed.

Combinable Priority Result
Yes Yes Both discounts apply. Discount code applies first, then volume discount.
Yes No Both discounts apply. Volume discount applies first, then discount code.
No Yes Only one discount applies. The discount code takes precedence.
No No Only one discount applies. The volume discount takes precedence.

Best Practices

  • Test the volume discount rules to ensure they apply correctly.

  • Inform users with a message on your ticketing page (e.g., “Get 10% off when you buy 5 or more tickets!”).
